Reaction to WannaCrypt - what you need to know

May 16, 2017

As I'm sure you've seen all over the news, WannaCrypt, the latest ransomware exploit released last Friday, has caused the world to take notice of the risks associated with running outdated software.  We at Innovative have been on-top of the issue from the outset, and our Automation Coordinator, Ben Gagnon, published our first blog article regarding the status of our client's computers on Monday, May 15.  In addition, I published my reaction to the news reports early on Tuesday, May 16.

To those unprepared, these events serve as a wake up call.  To those who have been aware of the risks, it serves as confirmation that efforts to maintain data security are well founded.  Innovative has been, and will be, on the wall, working to maintain the highest of standards for data security.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us - we'd be happy to review ways we maintain, or could improve, your data security plan.
