W2k3 Server End-Of-Support

Apr 1, 2015 | By Dave DelVecchio

As the calendar shifts from March to April, we're another month closer to the end of support from Microsoft for Windows Server 2003 which will be ending on July 14, 2015. After that date, security enhancements and updates will no longer be supplied, making businesses that run W2003 servers more susceptible to malware attacks and security breaches, and resulting in compliance issues for those in certain industries, such as healthcare providers failing HIPAA compliance, and any business that accepts credit cards failing PCI compliance standards. A proper migration plan takes 60 to 90 days from inception through project close, so those that don't start the process by April 14 risk not completing migration tasks in time.  If there are any Windows 2003 Server stragglers in your environment, getting a migration plan started should be your first priority in this new quarter!
